The Thanksgiving holiday is just around the corner, and if you’re like most people, you want to create the perfect Thanksgiving décor!
So where do you begin?
How to Create the Perfect Thanksgiving Table Setting
Peddler Interiors’ own design consultant, Angie Forte, gave us some fantastic tips to create a beautiful table setting.
The best place to start?
“Begin with a beautiful arrangement for the center,” says Forte. “Make sure your arrangement is short enough that you can easily see your guests on each side of the table.”
Try using a large bowl filled with small pumpkins, gourds, and greenery, which you can easily transform into an all-holiday centerpiece.
“Add a candlestick to each side and fill around the bowl and candlesticks with smaller pumpkins, gourds and greenery. Once Thanksgiving is over, the pumpkins and gourds can be switched out with pinecones and decorative balls for an easy transition to the Christmas season,” says Forte.
How Much Décor is Too Much?
While it’s great to go all-out for Thanksgiving (or any holiday, for that matter), there’s a fine line between “perfect” and “overboard.”
“The right amount of holiday decor is any amount that gives your home the holiday spirit but not so much that it makes it uncomfortable to enjoy entertaining guests. When entertaining, leave areas on tables and counters for your guests to sit a drink or a plate,” says Forte.
That extends to other areas of your home used for entertaining, as well.
“Too many pillows cluttering sofas or chairs can make guests feel awkward—and it can prevent them from sitting comfortably and enjoying the company,” says Forte. If you have a number of throw pillows that you ordinarily leave on the sofa or other lounging spaces, tuck them away before your guests arrive.
