The turbulent energy of Vermont’s rushing streams, captured in the body of the glass through a double-gathered technique. When the candle is lit, the overlapping layers send rippling optic effects through the form.

The Waterbury Hurricane’s texture isn’t applied or carved. It emerges from a double-gathered glassblowing technique that creates overlapping layers within the body of the glass itself. The inspiration is Vermont’s rushing waterways, and the effect earns that comparison: candlelight moving through the layered form produces a swirling, dynamic glow that shifts as the flame does. No two pieces come out of the process the same way.
